Simon's Cat...

I don't know what is so endearing about this little cartoon but I always look forward to the next Simon's Cat cartoon and book. I think it's probably one of those things that only cat people appreciate. There hasn't been a period in my life when I haven't been living with a cat...just when you think you're nearly done with them, another shows up. When I was a child we had seven around the place. About 10 years ago our family helped a feral cat and her two kittens and now we have two more in the homeplace and myself and Giolacha have two ourselves. I think what Simon's Cat does is to take all those bits about cats that we love (or hate) and put them into one little cartoon. I find myself laughing at the cartoons mainly because there is a lot of truth in them. Cats can be a pain but it's worth any annoyance because of all the fun. Recently, Giolacha bought a laser for the cats and I have hours of fun shining it on the floor and getting them to chase it. This amuses me greatly as we have wooden, polished floors and the slide all over the place and never seem to tire of that...
